Written question asked by Carla Lockhart (Democratic Unionist Party) on Friday, 29 May 2026, in the House of Commons. It was due for an answer on Thursday, 4 June 2026 (named day). It was answered by Alex Norris (Labour) on Tuesday, 23 June 2026 on behalf of the Home Office.

Offenders: Foreign Nationals

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what Northern Ireland-specific data her Department holds but does not publish on asylum, immigration enforcement, removals and foreign national offenders.

Answer

The way asylum, immigration enforcement, removals and foreign national offenders’ data is held is not specific to Northern Ireland. Immigration (including asylum) is a reserved matter. Whilst we have the ability to analyse data to drill down into specific geographical areas or locations, and have done so for supported asylum seekers, this is not the way that data is generally structured or recorded.

Obtaining the specific information requested in its entirety would involve collating and verifying information from multiple systems owned by various teams across the Home Office and, therefore, could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.
