To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of fishing quotas in the Atlantic on a) the price of cod and b) fish and chip businesses in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Quotas are set in line with scientific advice to ensure the long-term sustainability of stocks and can influence supply, which may place upward pressure on cod prices. However, the UK is a net importer of whitefish and prices are largely driven by global market conditions.
