First Aid: Medical Equipment

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment she has made of the adequacy of the provision of bleed control kits at key transport stations.

Answer: The Department is working with the rail industry, the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England to consider the appropriate and proportionate provision of Public Access Trauma (PAcT) kits across the rail network, including at stations and on trains. PAcT kits have been clinically standardised and are designed to be used by members of the public in an emergency, supported by clear instructions. Decisions on their provision are being informed by clinical advice and consideration of where they would be most effective.
