Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, further to the publication of, London Borough of Tower Hamlets: Letter to the Secretary of State from the Ministerial Envoys, 20 January 2026, and with reference to answer of 20 April 2026, to Question 124686, on Tower Hamlets Council, if he will list the stakeholders who have raised concerns about patronage.

Answer

The Ministerial Envoys are undertaking a deep dive project as part of the strengthened intervention package that was set out in the Directions on 17 March 2026, to provide assurance in relation to long-standing concerns, including in relation to patronage in recruitment. A list of stakeholders who have raised concerns will not be disclosed as doing so would involve the release of personal data and information provided in confidence and breach GDPR requirements on handling personal data.
