Hospitals: Construction
- Question
-
What steps his Department is taking to monitor the effectiveness of the New Hospital Programme.
- Answer
-
The previous government’s promise of 40 new hospitals by 2030 was undeliverable, with no funding committed beyond March 2025. This government reset the Programme with a credible plan to deliver, backed by our record capital investment.
The effectiveness of our Programme is regularly monitored and scrutinised internally and externally including publication of the first NHP Annual Report last week We will continue to deliver record investment for the NHS, including our recently published 10 Year Capital Plan.
