Jerusalem: Religious Buildings

Question

To ask Her Majesty's Government what representations they are making to the government of Israel about the arrest of Sheikh Abdel-Azeem Salhab and Sheikh Najeh Bkeirat for allowing Palestinian worshipers into the Temple Mount building.

Answer

​While we have not raised the specific case in question, the UK is committed to working with all parties to maintain calm, avoid provocation and uphold the status quo to ensure the safety and the security of the Al Haram Al Sharif/Temple Mount and all who worship there.
