Officers: Medals
- Question
-
To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Earl Howe on 30 November 2017 (HL3468), whether any Long Service and Good Conduct Medals for retired Heads of Service were produced but have not subsequently been issued.
- Answer
-
The criteria for the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (LS&GC) state that all Officers must have been in Regular service on or after 29 July 2014, and have served for 15 years from the date of attestation with good conduct. Some LS&GC medals were produced, in error, for retired Heads of Service which were not in accordance with the criteria. The error was discovered before these medals were issued.
