To ask His Majesty's Government what the total headcount of full time equivalent staff within the Civil Service was on 1 July 2026.

Headcount (HC) and full-time equivalent (FTE) Civil Service employment numbers are published quarterly in arrears by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) as part of their Public Sector Employment Statistics release.
The Latest data available, from the release on 31 March 2026, shows that overall Civil Service employment stands at 557,635 (HC) and 523,635 (FTE).
The Data from 30 June 2026 is due for publication by ONS on 15 September 2026.
