Palestine: Recognition of States

Question

To ask His Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Baroness Chapman of Darlington on 31 October 2025 (HL10876), whether they will now answer the question put, namely what boundaries they recognise for the state of Palestine.

Answer

The UK formally recognised the State of Palestine on 21 September 2025. The UK recognises Palestinian statehood over provisional borders, based on the 1967 lines subject to agreed land swaps, to be finalised through future negotiations. The UK remains of the firm view that the two-state solution is the best means to secure lasting peace, security and prosperity for both Israelis and Palestinians.
