To ask His Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Baroness Chapman of Darlington on 2 June, whether she will now answer the question put, namely what discussions they have had with the government of Egypt on the use of blasphemy provisions and restrictions on religious conversion, particularly in relation to Christian converts and Coptic Christians.

As I said in the response (HL16168) to which I referred in my answer of 2 June (HL199), we regularly discuss with the Egyptian government our concerns around freedom of religion or belief, including for Christian converts and Coptic Christians, and we will continue to do so, where appropriate. His Majesty's Ambassador to Cairo also frequently engages with faith leaders in Egypt, most recently on 13 June.
