Decolonise Fest: Finance
- Question
-
To ask His Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by the Minister of State for Culture, Media and Sport on 4 February (HC107383), what was the business case for the granting of funds to Decolonise Fest by Arts Council England; and whether the National Lottery has provided any additional funding.
- Answer
-
Decisions regarding funding awards are made by Arts Council England independently of the government; therefore, the Arts Council is the appropriate body to provide any additional details. All funding decisions are made in line with clear criteria and we support an approach that encourages a range of applicants.
In May 2026 the Arts Council awarded Decolonise Fest £20,000 for their 2026 event. The Noble Lord may also wish to contact the National Lottery or Decolonise Fest to request details from them directly.
