Military Exercises

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what assessment he has made of the results of Exercise Mountain Dragon; and if he will make a statement.

[126585]

Answer

Exercise Mountain Dragon is the primary output of the Air Battlespace Training Centre (ABTC) at RAF Waddington. The exercise uses demanding and realistic scenarios, drawn directly from the operational theatre, which replicate current procedures, rules of engagement and platform capabilities. This cannot be replicated by live training and makes a vital contribution to preparing forces for deployment.
