Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs if he will visit the Wroxeter Vineyard in Shrewsbury and Atcham constituency to gain information which will assist him in assessing what steps need to be taken to reduce the regulatory burden in that sector.

Answer

The Government has an ongoing commitment to reduce the regulatory burdens faced by UK business and the public. The Red Tape Challenge was launched as a means to capture ideas on where the regulatory burden could be reduced, to highlight which regulations are working and which ones are not working and to assess where things could be simplified. I would urge the proprietor of Wroxeter Vineyard to submit suggestions to the 'Challenge', which can be done online at:

www.redtapechallenge.cabinetoffice.gov.uk

I would also be interested to see any ideas directly in writing.

I sincerely hope that at some point in the future I am able to visit Wroxeter Vineyard to see and hear more about our acclaimed and increasingly successful UK wine production sector.
