Public Sector Relocation Independent Review

Question

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer pursuant to the answer of 12 November 2013, Official Report, column 586W, on public sector relocation independent review, whether the payment made to Sir Michael Lyons included a sum to cover VAT liability; whether his overall remuneration was paid to him personally or through a personal service company; and if he will place in the Library a copy of the contract.

Answer

In line with the practice followed by successive Administrations, it would not be proper to discuss individuals' tax affairs. Individuals' terms of employment, including their contractual arrangements, are commercially confidential.
