[holding answer 18 September 2006]: Absence from work on full pay can occur for a number of reasons e.g. sick leave, maternity leave or jury service. No report is available from a single source which covers all absences in comparison with pay. This information could be provided only at disproportionate cost.

There is no national sabbatical scheme for consultants. Consultants may apply for sabbatical leave in accordance with the employing organisation's arrangements. Information on numbers would be held locally by individual employers.
