To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what recent assessment has been made of the level of resilience of military infrastructure to climate change and natural disasters.
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) assesses the resilience of military infrastructure to climate change and natural hazards through its ongoing risk assessment programme.
For military infrastructure, the MOD uses its published Climate Impact Risk Assessment Methodology (CIRAM) to assess climate-related risks across both the UK and overseas Defence estate and their potential impact on site operations, assets and personnel.
In addition, the MOD completed a Natural Hazards Assessment and Horizon Study in 2023 to strengthen its understanding of current and emerging risks to military infrastructure.

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what funding her Department is providing to support international farmers to transition to agroforestry and other climate-resilient agricultural practices.
The UK Government aims to increase economic opportunity and boost resilience in underserved and underdeveloped regions. This includes supporting companies operating in secondary cities, rural supply chains, connective market infrastructure and trade opportunities to create jobs, boost incomes and mitigate economic displacement. We are supporting the transition to climate-resilient communities, economies and ecosystems, promoting climate‑resilient agricultural practices and healthy food systems whilst safeguarding and sustaining nature, including forests, oceans and coastal, terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office is also supporting the World Bank and other multilateral development banks to improve sustainable access to safe water supplies at scale. The World Bank alone aims to reach 250 million people with improved water supply and sanitation services by 2030.
Overall, as set out in our International Climate Finance Strategy 2026, we will deploy around £6 billion of Official Development Assistance alongside £6.7 billion of wider public finance to mobilise private capital at scale and drive systemic transformation across energy, resilience and nature outcomes. To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of climate change on UK crop yields.
The Defra-funded Food, Farming & Natural Environment Climate Service develops evidence on climate adaptation to strengthen the resilience of the agri-food sector. Defra’s crop genetic improvement platform also funds crop breeding R&D to identify genetic traits to improve UK crop resilience in the context of a changing climate.
The National Adaptation Programme sets out government actions to help adapt to the impacts of climate change in England, including in the food and farming sector. To support rural communities and farmers, the Government is funding actions to improve the environment, mitigate flood risk, and boost resilience, through Environmental Land Management schemes.

To ask the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, what funding has been provided for climate modelling and environmental monitoring research.
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) invested over £24million in research to support better climate modelling and more robust environmental monitoring in financial year 2024/25. This includes projects that use state-of-the-art computational techniques to monitor pollutants in UK rivers, machine learning models that track the impact of weather events and advanced quantification of greenhouse gas emissions. This year, £3.6million was also provided to the Met Office Hadley Centre to maintain and develop its underpinning climate modelling capability.
Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has another major R&D programme, the Natural Capital and Ecosystem Assessment programme, worth around £152 million (covering fiscal years 2022/23 – 2026/27). In addition, there are smaller R&D projects across Defra that support ongoing monitoring activity.
