The NHS Federated Data Platform (NHS FDP) safely connects information across the National Health Service into a single, secure environment. This gives National Health Service staff the ability to better co-ordinate care, and deliver benefits including managing theatre time better, improving the speed of a cancer diagnosis, or allowing patients to be discharged quicker from hospital.
To date, 24 integrated care board clusters and 168 NHS trusts have signed up to the NHS FDP, including the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. NHS England publishes quarterly information on the benefits realised at the following link:

As part of ongoing and regular contract reviews of the NHS FDP contract, consideration is given as to how benefits and outcomes are protected, whether or not there is an extension. In the event of the contract ending, Exit Management provisions would take effect. As with any change programme there are many aspects that require planning and resource, including delivery of associated procurement activity, mobilising the replacement, supporting users, and managing exit from existing contracts.
The contract has measures to facilitate exit and transition, including intellectual property rights in NHS build products or components. In addition, the contract includes controls to support transition and continuity of services in the event of termination, ensuring that operational delivery and patient services are protected.
In line with Government commercial function standards and contract management best practice, we shall be reviewing the NHS FDP contract with a decision anticipated to be made this year on extension.
Any decision to end or vary the contract would be taken in accordance with the agreed contractual terms, public procurement regulations, and Government commercial standards. This would include careful consideration of safeguarding NHS data, maintaining operational continuity, securing value for money, and upholding public trust.
The NHS FDP is, and will continue to be, an important component of delivering patient care in the NHS in England. In principle, another supplier could provide equivalent functionality in the future. It would take planning, time, and resources to run a compliant procurement and then move services and data across safely.

The scope of the digital ID scheme is still in development and we are inviting the public to have their say in the consultation as we develop an inclusive, trusted and useful system.
This Government recognises that around 1.5 million people in the UK are digitally excluded. That’s why we will deliver an ambitious inclusion programme working closely with employers, trade unions, civil society groups, the devolved governments, and other stakeholders.
Wider inclusion work is already underway - we set out a range of first steps in the Digital Inclusion Action Plan published in February last year and are working across government to reduce exclusion. There are no plans to make the national digital ID a requirement to access public services.

The Department recognises the importance of providing NHS Pension Scheme members certainty about when they will receive their McCloud Remediable Service Statements.
An independent review of the NHS Business Service Authority’s (NHSBSA) revised plans for the delivery of the McCloud remedy for NHS Pension Scheme members is underway. This will provide an additional level of scrutiny and assurance of the NHSBSA’s delivery plan and the timetable for the remaining statements.
I expect to be able to update the House on the review’s progress and the remedy delivery timetable before Christmas recess.
In the meantime, the NHSBSA continues to provide Remediable Service Statements to affected members, prioritising those who may be experiencing immediate financial hardship due to the discrimination highlighted by the McCloud judgment. Additionally, members who meet specific criteria can request to receive a prioritised Remediable Service Statement. Further information is available at the following link:

The Government is committed to ensuring that affected members are not subject to financial disadvantage due to these delays. Pension arrears arising from the McCloud remedy are paid with 8% interest, and a compensation scheme is available for members who have experienced other direct financial losses.

Crown Commercial Service (CCS) designed the RM6277 Non Clinical Staffing commercial agreement with small-medium enterprise (SMEs) accessibility in mind. SMEs secured over 70% of places across lots 1 to 6 and 46% in lot 7.
CCS commercial agreements are not mandatory, and provide a compliant route to procure common goods and services. It is the responsibility of each organisation, including the NHS, to determine whether to use a framework.
