SPS Inspection Facilities at Belfast, Larne, Foyle, and Warrenpoint are now operational. Remaining works on 13 July 2026 were limited to minor snagging and commissioning activities in line with normal construction practice and include additional works at Larne which will enhance the live animal inspections already in place.
This Government, which has responsibility for delivery of these facilities, remains committed to a maximum funding envelope of £192.3 million. Of this envelope, £152.2 million has been spent up to the 13 July 2026. Further payments for construction have yet to be made in accordance with contractual terms, however the total expenditure is forecast to be within the maximum funding envelope.

The proposed Regulations do not alter existing Windsor Framework arrangements. Machinery placed on the market in Northern Ireland must comply with the applicable Northern Ireland requirements. Machinery manufactured in Great Britain may be placed on the Northern Ireland market with the CE marking where it is either self-assessed to the EU requirements or assessed by an EU-recognised body. Where a UK-approved body carries out the conformity assessment, both the CE and UKNI markings are required. Manufacturers may therefore continue to place machinery on the Northern Ireland market regardless of where it is manufactured, provided it meets the applicable requirements.

When will the Secretary of State actually stand up for Northern Ireland? Can we please not have the usual trite reply that it is all the fault of Brexit, when it is the very opposite? The denial of Brexit is the altar upon which our supply chains are being sacrificed.

I worry that the hon. and learned Member is in danger of talking down Northern Ireland and its incredible business opportunities. We are here to champion it. If issues arise from the Brexit that he and others championed, we do our very best to ensure that trades flow smoothly.

The Ministry of Defence authorised payments to the then hon. Member for Lagan Valley, Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, for consultancy work advising the UK Government on the Anglophile Crisis and assisting in the development of a peace process plan for the Government of Cameroon. All foreign nationals who receive a prison sentence in the UK are referred for deportation consideration at the earliest opportunity by the respective prison service. There has been an increase in the return of foreign national offenders (FNOs) by 36%, with almost 10,000 FNOs being returned since this Government came to power.
The Home Office publishes data on FNO returns in the quarterly Immigration System Statistics release. Quarterly data on enforced, voluntary and port FNO returns (of which ‘deportations’ are a legal subset) are published in table ‘Ret_D03’ of the returns detailed datasets accompanying the release.
