We have received assurances from the Chief Executive of the Committee on Climate Change on their processes for managing potential conflicts of interests. These include a clear policy on conflicts of interests, publication of members’ interests, and actively inviting information on actual or perceived conflicts as the first agenda item at each Committee meeting.

That this House finds the action of the Secretary of State for the Environment in allowing the Leader of Wandsworth Borough Council an opportunity to submit so-called 'new evidence' to him, after a public inquiry has closed and the Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State has produced his report, intolerable and completely at odds with the quasi-judicial planning process; and condemns the abuse of power and the party political interference by both people in what should be a non-partisan matter.
