Sir Alan Duncan visited Oman in January 2011 in a private capacity as declared in the Parliamentary Register.

That this House notes the publication by the honourable Member for Rutland and Melton of 'Saturn's Children' in which he called for the legalisation of drugs; further notes the honourable Member's role as an Opposition frontbench spokesperson on health; believes that his views are simplistic, extreme and irresponsible; and further believes that the honourable Member should publish a full and unambiguous statement outlining whether he still adheres to his comments in 'Saturn's Children'.

That this House notes that the honourable Member for Rutland and Melton has failed to respond to legitimate questions being asked by members of Westminster City Council and Labour's Frontbench concerning the arrangements he made for the purchase of the council house next door to his own home in Gayfere Street, Westminster; and believes that the honourable Gentleman should enter into negotiations with the Conservative Chairman of Westminster City Council with a view to returning a proportion of the substantial profit he has made on this transaction.
