That this House supports the campaign to have the A9 between Perth and Inverness upgraded to dual carriageway; despairs at the dangerous design of the road that varies awkwardly between dual carriageway and single file traffic; notes that the A9 is the main arterial route through the Scottish Highlands and is frequently used by foreign tourists as well as honourable Members who often visit this beautiful part of the United Kingdom; notes that visitors often have difficulty in understanding the layout of the road and are often distracted by the scenery of this area; and calls on the Scottish Executive to dual the whole of the A9 and instal grade-separated junctions in order to make this dangerous road safe.
