Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Russell Brown (Labour), on Thursday, 29 April 1999, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 116 members in total.
STALKING AND SHOOTING OF NANNY GOATS FOR FUNDRAISING
That this House congratulates the Sunday Mirror for exposing the British Deer Society's activity of using the stalking and shooting of nanny goats as a fundraising activity; demands that unless the British Deer Society ceases this barbaric activity immediately, it should be stripped of its charitible status; and considers that Buccleuch Estates should ban such fundraising activities on its land, and that Dumfries and Galloway Tourist Board should with immediate effect stop advertising wild goat stalking as an outdoor activity and remove it from its web-site.
