Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Desmond Turner (Labour), on Thursday, 11 February 1999, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 154 members in total.
PAY FOR TECHNICALLY AND SCIENTIFICALLY QUALIFIED STAFF IN THE NHS
That this House is gravely concerned by the extremely low pay for technical and scientifically qualified staff in the National Health Service, without whom an increasingly science-based service is in danger of collapse; and accordingly urges the Government to address the issue of pay for staff groups outside the Pay Review Body as a matter of urgency in order to maintain the recruitment and retention of essential highly skilled workers to the National Health Service.
