Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Hilton Dawson (Labour), on Tuesday, 20 January 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 16 members in total.
PROPOSED GAS STORAGE SITE AT PREESALL, LANCASHIRE
That this House recognises the concern of 40,000 people from Fleetwood, Thornton Cleveleys, Poulton le Fylde, Knott End, Preesall, Stalmine, Hambleton and the surrounding area at the prospect of the development of a two million ton natural gas storage facility within five miles of their homes by a Texas-based firm Canatxx Gas Storage Ltd; believes that the fullest debate should take place on this proposal; and urges representatives of Canatxx to attend public meetings to explain the details of their protest and answer questions about safety.
