Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Alan Amos (Conservative), on Wednesday, 6 March 1991, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 1 members in total.

AIRLINE COMPETITION

That this House warmly congratulates the Secretary of State for Transport on his courageous decision to implement the recommendation from the Civil Aviation Authority to abolish the outdated traffic distribution rules which have hindered competition and operated against the interests of the consumer; believes that his decision will widen consumer choice, reduce fares and improve quality of service; further believes that in order to establish a competitive multi-airline business in the United Kingdom, smaller British operators and those using regional airports must be allowed access into Heathrow on a fair and equal basis with British Airways; and urges the Government to ensure a level playing field for the smaller British airlines.
