Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor John Hemming (Liberal Democrat), on Monday, 18 February 2008, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 60 members in total.
PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND ENERGY COSTS
That this House notes with concern the effect of increasing energy costs on people on low and fixed incomes; believes that efforts need to be made to ensure that people on lower incomes are enabled to manage their household budgets; and calls on the Government to review how energy support costs mechanisms such as the winter fuel payment can be extended to cover people on low incomes because of disability or with disabled children.
