Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Peter Robinson (Democratic Unionist Party), on Thursday, 13 December 1990, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 1 members in total.
DAIL EIREANN AND ARTICLES 2 AND 3
That this House welcomes the growing, if not majority, support within the Dail, as expressed during the debate on Wednesday 12th December, to amend Articles 2 and 3 of the Constitution of the Irish Republic; endorses the view expressed by one of the political leaders in the debate that these articles, which claim United Kingdom territory, 'are clearly unhelpful and incompatible, from a political point of view, with the emergence of tolerance, peace and concord in Northern Ireland'; believes that suitable amendment of Articles 2 and 3 would transform and improve relations between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic; and urges Her Majesty's Government to encourage the Government of the Irish Republic to progress with this helpful constitutional change.
