Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Stan Crowther (Labour), on Tuesday, 14 January 1992, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 58 members in total.
TRADE UNION RIGHTS IN THE NEWSPAPER INDUSTRY
That this House deplores the growing practice among newspaper proprietors of introducing individual contracts in place of the traditional trade union negotations on pay rates; and therefore expresses its full support for members of the National Union of Journalists employed on the Rotherham and South Yorkshire Advertiser and the Rotherham Record who have taken strike action in defence of their basic right to be represented by their union in pay negotiations.
