Industrial action of outsources workers in the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy

That this House commends the efforts and determination of members of the PCS union, employed by ISS and Aramark based at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy headquarters who have won their disputes over pay and terms and conditions; notes that these members represent catering, security, portage, cleaning, post room and receptionist staff; further notes that both disputes have resulted in numerous periods of strike action with PCS members employed as catering staff by Aramark and as cleaning staff by ISS embarking on over three months of indefinite strike action this year; welcomes the support given to PCS members by politicians from across the House, the trades union movement and campaigning organisations during these disputes; applauds the commitments given by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the employers to pay these hard working staff the London Living Wage and improve their terms and conditions; and calls on the Government to urgently review these and other outsourced Government contracts and work towards bringing these vital roles back into the public sector.
