Resist China Global Day of Action

That this House notes that 1 October is celebrated in The People’s Republic of China as National Day to officially commemorate the formal establishment of the nation; further notes that the Chinese government celebrates this annual day with a military parade in Beijing; recognises that The People’s Republic of China is reported to have up to three million Uyghur Muslims in concentration camps, forced 500,000 Tibetan farmers into labour camps, and a similar programme in the western Xinjiang (East Turkistan) region; welcomes the Resist China Global Day of Action to highlight the plight of millions; pressures the Government of The People’s Republic of China to release political prisoners; and urges the UK Government to use its power to work with international partners and allies to bring change and freedom to the region.
