Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Jim Shannon (Democratic Unionist Party), on Monday, 23 March 2026, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 5 members in total.

Countryside Alliance and the Countryside Clean Up

That this House recognises the valuable work of the Countryside Alliance in organising its annual Countryside Clean-up, taking place from 20 March to early April 2026; notes the significant contribution of volunteers from rural communities, including farmers, landowners and local residents, who give their time to remove litter from verges, hedgerows, footpaths and farmland; acknowledges that littering and fly-tipping continue to pose serious risks to wildlife, livestock and the natural beauty of the countryside; commends the campaign’s role in bringing communities together to take practical action and raise awareness of rural crime and environmental stewardship; and encourages wider public participation in protecting and preserving the countryside for future generations.
