SUPPORT FOR MINERS FROM PEOPLE OF MERSEYSIDE

That this House fully supports the Scottish miners marching to London in protest at the proposed pit closures; commends the support to the miners given by the Liverpool Coalfields Community Support Campaign and the people of Merseyside; and calls upon honourable Members and the British public to show their support for the marchers by switching off their lights on Saturday, 19th December for precisely five minutes at 8 p.m. to mark their arrival in London.
