- My Lords, is any research being carried out into the question of whether the Severn tidal bore could be harnessed in any way? If not, why not?

My Lords, the Severn barrage project has been looked at a number of times. It is an enormously expensive scheme and, as of this moment, the economics of it do not look very desirable.
