Proceeding contribution from Baroness Beckett (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 27 March 2006. It occurred during Urgent question on Rural Payments Agency.

Rural Payments Agency

As I said a little while ago, we have been in touch with banks and with those who deal with the financial interests of the farming community, and so far they have told us that they do not anticipate a greater measure of difficulties than normally arise at about this time of year. They are mindful of the situation and will keep it in mind, but we are holding further talks with them to ensure that that continues to be the case.
