Pain Clinics

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Health what assessment she has made of the availability of specialised consultant-led pain clinics in the NHS.
Answer

The responsibility to commission appropriate pain management services based on the needs of local populations lies with Primary Care Trusts. The Department has made no assessment of the availability of specialised consultant led pain clinics in the NHS.
