Falcons: Conservation

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what account he has taken of the examples of captive Eleanora’s falcons appearing in the UK following the delisting in 1994 of the species from Schedule 4 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 in his review of wild bird registration under section 7 of the Act.

Answer

The public consultation exercise into Schedule 4 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 closed on 16 February 2007, over the coming weeks we will consider the situation of both captive and wild population changes of all species delisted in 1994.
