African Union: EU External Relations

- To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether it is Government policy that the Prime Minister will not attend the EU-AU Summit in Lisbon this year if Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe attends the summit; and if he will make a statement.

Invitations have yet to be issued to the EU-Africa Summit in Lisbon. We are continuing to work with EU colleagues for a solution in line with the EU Common Position. We believe that Robert Mugabe's attendance would be wrong.
