Departmental Sustainable Development

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when her Department plans to publish its sustainable operations policy statement.

Answer: The Home Office is committed to reducing its impact on the environment by improving the environmental performance of its estate. Our current initiatives are outlined in the operations section of our Sustainable Development Action Plan which can be found at:"http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/documents/sustainable-dev-plan"We are currently undertaking a review of our strategic approach to sustainable development to strengthen governance and improve performance. Future plans and corporate commitments, including those relating to sustainable operations, will be published on our departmental website by end of January 2009.
