Government Car and Despatch Agency

Question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much his Department paid to the Government Car and Despatch Agency in each of the last five years; how much it has spent on such payments in 2009-10; and what proportion of such payments was made in respect of the Government Car Service.
Answer

Costs to Departments of ministerial cars are reported annually to Parliament by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Transport through written ministerial statements and are available in the Libraries of the House.Details of spending on other GCDA services for the five years prior to 2009-10 are £5,669 (2008-09), £5,329 (2007-08), £4,804 (2006-07), £5,505 (2005-06) and £6,611 (2004-05). Figures for spending in 2009-10 will be available following the publication of the audited accounts.
