Radiotherapy

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Health what proportion of cancer patients in England have received radiotherapy treatment in the last 12 months.

Answer: It is not currently possible to calculate a reliable estimate of the proportion of cancer patients receiving radiotherapy.The Department is working with the national health service to implement a comprehensive and robust data collection and monitoring system to support the implementation later this year of the commitment that no patient should wait longer than 31-days for subsequent radiotherapy, as set out in the Cancer Reform Strategy.
