Aviation: Regulatory Framework
- Question
- To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they intend to update the regulatory framework for aviation; and, if so, when.
- Answer
-
The Queen's Speech in May included a statement of our intention to reform the framework for the economic regulation of airports to benefit passengers and to drive investment in better airport facilities. We will be announcing more details shortly. We are aware that there may be other parts of the aviation regulatory framework that need updating. However, before the Government commit to legislation on these, they want to ensure that changes are made in a way that avoids increasing the overall regulatory burden.
