Department for Transport: Consultancy

Question
To ask Her Majesty’s Government what is the latest figure for the Department for Transport’s total spend on consultancy and all other advisory services in connection with the Intercity Express Programme.
Answer

From 2005 to July 2010, the Department for Transport spent a total of £27.6 million on rail industry advice, the independent Foster Review, meeting room hire and the legal, financial, business case, technical, project management, and procurement advice associated with the £7.5 billion Intercity Express Programme.
