HMS Caroline

- To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what his plans are for the future of the training ship HMS Caroline.

We have agreed in principle to gift the ship to the National Museum of the Royal Navy. This is subject to the development of a viable heritage business plan for the ship and parliamentary approval. As well as the National Museum being able to fund the day-to-day responsibility for the ship, following decommissioning on 31 March, a heritage plan is required to be developed in consultation with the NI authorities and others.
