Banking: Royal Bank of Scotland

Question
To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether the superinjunction granted to Sir Fred Goodwin, and referred to by Mr John Hemming MP on 10 March (Official Report, Commons col. 1069), relates to events during his term as chief executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland; and, if so, whether they can be considered by the Financial Services Authority in its review covering corporate governance at the Royal Bank of Scotland which is due to be published shortly.

Her Majesty's Government are not aware of any details related to any superinjunction granted to Sir Fred Goodwin, including whether any such superinjunction relates to events during his term as chief executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
