Aviation: Air Quality
- Question
- To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they have reviewed the findings of Dr Susan Michael is entitled Health and Flight Safety Implications from Exposure to Contaminated Air in Aircraft; and what were their conclusions.
- Answer
-
I refer the noble Countess to the Written Statement made on 10 May 2011 (Official Report, col. WS 37). The information available has been published in the Cranfield University report. The next step is for the research studies, which the Department for Transport has commissioned, to be referred to the Committee on Toxicity. This will be done once the final study—swab test research—has been completed by the Institute of Occupational Medicine in Edinburgh.
