- To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what recent assessment he has made of permitted development rights for (a) biomass and (b) anaerobic digestion; and if he will make a statement.

We are considering responses to a consultation which included proposals to introduce permitted development rights for the installation of flues for biomass systems on non-domestic premises and clarifying that permitted development rights are available for the erection of structures to house anaerobic digestion systems on agricultural and forestry land.
