Question: Which former public sector research establishments in his Department have been privatised since 1979; and which public sector research establishments in his Department are currently undergoing reviews with a view to placing them in the private sector.

Answer: Mrs. Anne Campbell: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer which former public sector research establishments in his Department have been privatised since 1979; and which public sector research establishments in his Department are currently undergoing reviews with a view to placing them in the private sector.[21949] Mr. Jack: HM Treasury is not currently responsible, and has not been since 1979, for any public sector research establishments, the responsibility for the latest series of reviews is with the President of the Board of Trade.
