Mr. Touhig: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the level of Government investment in (a) road and (b) airport infrastructure over the last four years. [17770] Sir George Young: Since 1993-94, my Department has invested, in England, over £7.2 billion of public money in the national roads network and around £3.6 billion in local authority roads. Investment in airport infrastructure is very largely from the private sector.
