Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what is his estimate of the value of the development sites proposed for disposal by the Ministry of Defence, including the housing units; and when he expects the sales to be made.

Answer: Mr. Colvin: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what is his estimate of the value of the development sites proposed for disposal by the Ministry of Defence, including the housing units; and when he expects the sales to be made. [13911] Mr. Spellar: Based on the number of sites which are in disposal or are currently planned to become surplus, we estimate that disposal receipts for land and buildings will total some £140 million in 1997-98, £125 million in 1998-99 and £70 million in 1999-2000. Housing units for disposals within the Annington Homes portfolio are released to that company within the provisions of the contract of sale.
