Mr. Nicholas Winterton: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what plans he has to meet representatives of the construction industry to discuss the implementation of landfill tax exemptions for waste from contaminated sites; and if he will make a statement. [20320] Mr. Oppenheim: [holding answer 17 March 1997]: I have no such plans. Officials of HM Customs and Excise will meet representatives of the Building Employers Confederation on 20 March, and will give a full report of their meeting to Treasury Ministers.
